If I’m taking pictures of people at night, then I usually just use one setting on Manual. I have my flash on Rear, with the Aperture on it’s biggest opening, which is f/3.5 for most kit lenses, and for the shutter speed, you can just play around with it from 1/15-1/125.

But if you’re talking about taking photos of landscape/scenery at night, then it’s usually done with a longer shutter speed and best done with a tripod!

I’m not that really good at teaching, and it gets worse when it’s not in person. Hahaha! Sorry! But I hope that helped.
