Living in the Stills x Oscar de la Renta continued:
Shot with the Hasselblad 500c/m
Aside from shooting digital, which was the outcome of our work at the Tumblr x Sony exhibit, I brought in the Hasselblad 500c/m to shoot Raffaele Ilardo in medium format. I thought it would be great to capture the work in a more genuine and authentic way, and film is always a lot more intimate.
Since I never really talked about what exactly we were doing with the collaboration, here it is:
The whole idea behind our collaboration was to show the audience the construction of the dresses before they’re actually made with the chosen fabrics for the current collection. Raffaele Ilardo is the Atelier Director and Creative Advisor of the house, so it was just fitting to have him represent the work being done in the atelier. Basically each dress is made with a fabric called Muslin, and it sort of represents the draft of the dress, which I thought was something that only a few get to see. It’s amazing to have the opportunity to see the process of one of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, and I’m glad to share it with you guys. So here are the rest of the photos I shot with the Hasselblad.
