Aside from shooting digital, which was the outcome of our work at the Tumblr x Sony exhibit, I brought in the Hasselblad 500c/m to shoot Raffaele Ilardo in medium format. I thought it would be great to capture the work in a more genuine and authentic way, and film is always a lot more intimate.
Since I never really talked about what exactly we were doing with the collaboration, here it is:
The whole idea behind our collaboration was to show the audience the construction of the dresses before they’re actually made with the chosen fabrics for the current collection. Raffaele Ilardo is the Atelier Director and Creative Advisor of the house, so it was just fitting to have him represent the work being done in the atelier. Basically each dress is made with a fabric called Muslin, and it sort of represents the draft of the dress, which I thought was something that only a few get to see. It’s amazing to have the opportunity to see the process of one of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, and I’m glad to share it with you guys. So here are the rest of the photos I shot with the Hasselblad.
For our 6th season at New York Fashion Week, we’re mixing things up by pairing twenty all-star bloggers with twenty incredible designers to create behind-the-scenes posts. We are putting their work on display at Milk Studios from September 5-12.
Without further ado, here’s the lineup of the all-stars and fashion houses:
Again, huge thanks to Tumblr, Sony, Oscar de la Renta, and Milk Studios for making this happen! Completely floored and honored to have my work exhibited at Milk Studios along with all these amazing and creative people, as well as collaborating with Oscar de la Renta to represent their work.
Here’s to the start of another grand fashion week at Milk and New York city!!

Living in the Stills x Oscar de la Renta
Hey everybody! Here’s a quick update of what’s going on with my collaboration with Oscar de la Renta:
I met up with Martha Botts, the sweetest communication manager ever. She’s incredibly welcoming and I couldn’t have asked for a better way of getting to know the brand. We talked last Monday at their amazing showroom, and she took me around the whole office of the company, which was incredibly inspiring. Now, we’re talking more about what we have in store for the special exhibit that Tumblr & Sony will be hosting for all of us bloggers and mentors to open fashion week! More updates to come!
Photos taken with the amazing NEX-5Rthat Sony gave us. They weren’t kidding when they said this camera has the quality of a DSLR. Definitely impressed!
